Cheese and Sausage Shipping Information

Is it safe to ship cheese & sausage?

  • The tradition of making cheese was started many, many years ago as a way to preserve milk in warm climates and also to make it portable. Properly sealed, most cheese can be left at room temperature for two to four days.
  • We take every precaution to make sure your product is received in the freshest form. All of our freshly cut cheese is vacuum sealed as soon as it's cut to block out air and moisture. Orders are not filled until the day they are shipped out. During warm months, we use icepacks as needed and require faster shipping methods. The icepacks will last most or all of the way. If your cheese arrives warm, don't worry. Placing it in the door or a drawer of your refrigerator will bring it back to its natural texture.
  • Soft cheeses, such as Brie, do not tolerate warm temperatures as well. For this reason, we limit the sale of soft cheeses to certain times of the year. When we do offer it during the holidays, make sure to check us out!
  • Like cheese, old fashioned sausages are also made to withstand warmer temperatures and will be shipped in accordance with cheese products. Meats, such as bacon, are vacuum sealed and smoked to insure freshness.

How much does shipping cost?

  • Shipping costs (excluding any special shipping offers) are based on product weight, package weight, UPS's Real Time shipping rates as suggested by UPS, and delivery speed. We do not add any additional fees to the rates supplied by UPS. Rates include UPS's fuel surcharges and residential delivery fees.

What shipping services are offered?

  • All orders are shipped UPS Real Time. You are able to select Ground, 3-Day Select, 2nd Day Air, Next Day Air, Next Day Air Saver, Next Day Air Early AM.
  • Due to the nature of perishable items, the shipping method chosen must follow the guidelines in the chart below (or faster) in order for the product to be guaranteed.

How long until I receive my order?

  • Once picked up by UPS, ground shipping takes anywhere from 1-4 business days to receive your package.
  • Due to the perishable nature of our products, we ship out only on Mondays and Tuesdays to guarantee that you will receive your product before the weekend. Orders must be placed by 12:00pm on Tuesday to receive your order the same week. Orders placed after that will be shipped out the following Monday. Orders placed for Next Day or 2 Day shipment will go out the same week if the product will be received by the customer before the weekend. If not, it will go out the following Monday.   • Due to the large number of orders received in December, packages may be delayed, but are guaranteed to arrive by Christmas if ordered by December 13.

Restrictions & Conditions

  • We only ship to physical addresses. UPS does not deliver to PO or APO boxes.
  • Holidays, Weather, and incorrect shipping information may delay your shipment.
  • We are not responsible if the address is incorrect or incomplete. If returned, the order will be reshipped at your expense.
  • Gift cards with personailzed messages will be placed in orders only if the "Gift Card Message" section is filled out during checkout.
